Oh my Goodness!  I have just published a toddler book called '1 Little Dragon' and it is the first book in my Red Rainbow Rune Series.  It is a counting adventure based in the same Realm as my Children's novel 'The Realm of the Purple Dragon' and I am sooooo excited!!!!  It has come out better than I had hoped for - the pictures are bright and bold and just beautiful.  If you have a toddler who is just learning their numbers then this fantasy book is perfect.  Also they can grow with my Rainbow Rune Series and one day read my novels!  Please support me and buy this book for your little ones - I am already working on Grifin the Green Dragon's second red book, which is an Alphabet adventure.

There is a feeling in the air,

it is building day by day,

that everyone upon this Earth

may soon have a chance to say:

'Now is the time to make a stand,

to let your voice be heard,

the time is now, it is at hand -

Iniquity be cured!'

It is time to start the healing

of each and every soul,

broken and tormented -

it is time to make them whole.

Peace needs understanding

and to eliminate all fear,

the world must be a family

in unity that's clear.

How can we find this harmony

and create a safe new Dawn

of bliss and calm serenity

that makes each heart feel warm?

Only through a simple process

can compassion and respect

in each and every human heart

through simple love infect.

And there is no one religion

that can pacify the Earth,

there is no one tradition

that can break the dreaded curse.

There is no prayer or meditation

that can put an end to war,

only love gives birth to peace,

Seasons Greetings everyone

Well the Season of cheer is well and truly upon us so I wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and a very happy New Year.  May your hearts be filled with love and your homes be filled with joy.  If you didn't already know, Oggy and the Snot Monster and The Realm of the Purple Dragon are now available to buy on Lulu - I thank you all for your support and I hope you continue to enjoy my books and art.

    Last night I went to my first meeting, as a guest, with the New Eastbourne Writers' group who meet at the Bibendum wine bar in Eastbourne.  I wasn't going to go, I didn't have any money and my agrophobic tendancies kept telling me not to bother.  It took me a while to talk myself round to going and eventually, after some deep breathing excercises, I went for it.  

    As it turned out, it was a very pleasant evening, A very interesting talk and  I met some nice like-minded people all with various projects and books published in different ways and heard some readings of poetry and some snippets of other writers' novels and works in progress.  I look forward to meeting up with this fellow band of bards in the future LOL.

    I recieved my first ever cheque from Lulu Press yesterday which was so exciting.  I know it was only for a few pounds, but just the thought that people have been on to the site and bought my poetry book gives me an amazing feeling of pride and satisfaction in the whole process.  I can't wait to publish The Realm of the Purple Dragon my first children's novel and Oggy and the Snot Monster my first attempt at an Infant level children's book.  

    I want to encourage any writers who are reading this to really push for your dream of becoming published and if the traditional path of publishing (which is incredibly hard, may I say almost impossible to break in to) doesn't reap any rewards, then self-publishing will certainly give you a buzz and a boost to a struggling writer's self-esteem.  I know how it feels to be writing (and loving it) but not getting any recognition for your work.  At the very least having your own books on your own bookshelf can give you a warm fuzzy feeling that just can't be replicated in any other way and at least your family and friends can enjoy the fruits of your labour too LOL.

    I know I am the typical expression of the struggling author and while I continue to fill in application forms for (real jobs) with no success I can at least glow inside that my present hobby but ultimate dream of being a fully recognised, properly published author is tantilizingly close, so close I can almost grab it and give it a big welcoming hug.
